NZ Baking Awards: our baguette won gold!

We competed in the Great NZ Bread Bake Off Awards, a baking competition organised every year by Farmers Mill, one of our main flour suppliers based in South Canterbury. Any bakery that uses Farmers Mill 100% NZ grown and milled wheat flours was eligible to enter.

This year the competition was organised in categories, loosely based on countries (Germany, Denmark, New Zealand, Holland, Italy, France and Switzerland). Judging criteria included a number of factors, such as flavour, crust colour, structure/crumb, shaping/moulding, volume/general appearance, technical difficulty, originality and aroma.

We are very proud to announce that we won 4 awards:

  • Gold for our Baguette (France) – Dave
  • Silver for Pretzel (Germany) – David & Isabel 
  • Silver for Danish Rye (Denmark) – Dave
  • Bronze for Zopf (Switzerland) – David
