Job Description
We are looking for a warm, hands-on leader to run our Holmwood shop in Merivale. If you love good bread, great coffee and people who care about what they do, then we knead to hear from you!
- Permanent, full-time leadership role (35+ hours per week)
- Rostered shifts across 7 days, between 6.30am and 4.30pm
- You set the roster, so you can shape a schedule that works for you and your team
About Holmwood
Holmwood, on Holmwood Road in Merivale, is our newest shop and already one of our busiest. Coffee is a huge part of the story here, and our regulars expect it done properly every time.
You’ll lead a strong team of baristas and front of house through busy mornings and weekends. Because the shop is still young, you’ll have a real hand in shaping how it runs, from the flow behind the counter to the way we look after our regulars. If you love a buzzing, coffee-led café and want to make a new site your own, this is the one.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Leading from the floor: serving customers, making coffees and showing what great Bellbird hospitality looks like
- Supporting, training and developing your team, and making sure they have everything they need to succeed
- Opening and running a smooth, safe and spotless shop, including food safety and health and safety
- Keeping our displays looking beautiful and our bread and pastry orders spot on, so we sell more and waste less
- Watching your sales, spotting opportunities and bringing new products to life with your team
- Owning your site’s rostering, labour, wastage and sales, with support from our Retail Manager
- Working alongside our other Site Managers, our Production and Wholesale teams and the Retail Manager, including a monthly Site Leads catch-up
Qualifications & Experience
If you’ve run a busy café or bakery, or had success in retail as a second-in-charge, this could be the next layer in your career.
- You genuinely enjoy people: regulars, first-timers, your team and our bakers
- You have strong coffee skills and can lead a busy barista team, plus a real passion for delicious baked goods
- You lead by example and take pride in quality and consistency
- You have an eye for detail and can juggle a busy morning without losing your smile
- Rostering experience would be a bonus
- You are happy with an early alarm!
