This place makes the most amazing French pastries in the whole of New Zealand! They are beautiful looking, generous in size and so so yummy. The outside is light golden and crunchy while the inside melts in your mouth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your open hours at Holmwood?

Monday – Saturday: 7:30am – 3pm
Sunday: 8am – 3pm

Where else can I find Bellbird Bakery

You can find our other locations at The Tannery or our Riverside Market stall.

You can also find us at two weekend farmers’ markets in Christchurch.

Where can I collect?

You can collect your order either from our main shop at the Tannery or our stall at the Riverside Market. On the checkout page, you will be asked to select your preferred pickup location. Please note that you will also need to enter your address for billing purposes.

How long do your products last?

It depends on each product. Sourdough bread can be kept for a few days at room temperature. Pastries such as Croissants are best eaten on the day they are baked. If eating later, we recommend freezing them.

None of our products should be placed in the fridge, as this will make them go stale faster. We provide some advice on how best to keep our baked goods in this article.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Absolutely! Head to our Gift Vouchers page and select the amount, the recipient and the date you’d like the voucher to be sent. You’ll be able to either print the voucher yourself, or send it by email. Those vouchers are redeemable online and in our shops.

Please note that vouchers are sold online exclusively.

What are your most popular items?

Our most popular item is the croissant, followed closely by almond croissants, pains aux raisins and danishes.

For something more filling, our sourdoughs are crafted with an 18-hour fermentation for that classic flavour and texture, and we’ve got fresh sandwiches ready to go.

Pair it all with a barista-made coffee and you’re set.

Why can't I select the day I want in the calendar?

If you can’t order for a specific date, it means either that:

  • Our shop is closed for pickups (Mondays at the Tannery)
  • You have placed your order after our cut-off time of 12pm 2 days in advance;
  • That this particular date has reached capacity (we have a maximum number of orders we can take in a day).

Thanks for your understanding!
